For Simon, Kalgoorlie has always been a place of opportunity. What began as a short-term move for work more than 30 years ago has turned into a life of raising a family and building a business deeply rooted in the Goldfields community.

As Principal Engineer at KAL Engineering Consultants, Simon leads a locally owned and operated business that provides civil, structural and geotechnical engineering services across the region, working closely with clients in mining, commercial and local government sectors.

Simone is the Chief Executive Officer of the Kalgoorlie-Boulder Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KBCCI), where she helps drive local business success and fosters a strong sense of community. Both she and Simon are passionate about giving back to the region that has supported their family and careers, valuing the opportunities and connections that make Kalgoorlie so unique.

Outside of work, Simon and Simone enjoy walking their dogs and spending time outdoors, making the most of Kalgoorlie’s easy-going lifestyle. Weekends often include attending community and social events, catching up with friends, or heading away camping to explore the region. Simon is also actively involved in local sport, playing footy, attending the races, and enjoying the adventure of prospecting throughout the Goldfields.
