Robert arrived in Kalgoorlie more than a decade ago through a driller support program with Ausdrill in Ghana. What began as a work opportunity soon became a new beginning, and with support from Ausdrill he was able to bring his wife and five children to join him in the Goldfields. Today, Kalgoorlie is the place they proudly call home.
Robert works as a Drill Trainer at Ausdrill’s Fimiston site at the Super Pit, a role he has grown into after years of experience as a driller. Guiding and supporting others in the industry is something he’s genuinely proud of, and the career progression he has experienced is one of the reasons he values life in Kalgoorlie.
Outside of work, Robert’s life revolves around family. Weekends are spent taking his daughters to local playgrounds, staying active at the gym, or catching soccer and little athletics events around town. Those everyday moments with his children are what he appreciates most about the lifestyle here.
For Robert, Kalgoorlie offers the peace, connection, and opportunity that allow families to thrive. With everything close by, a friendly community, and a strong work–life balance, he believes it’s the kind of place where people can put down roots and build their future.
“This is where we’ve built our future, raised our children, and found a place we truly belong”
