When Maddy and her fiancé Connor decided it was time for a change, they packed up their life in rural New South Wales and headed west to Kalgoorlie. Already working in mining, Maddy was ready to take the next step in her career and Kalgoorlie, with its mix of opportunity and community, felt like the perfect place to do it.

Today, Maddy works as a People & Culture Support Officer at Evolution Mining’s Mungari site, combining career growth with the lifestyle and community that make Kalgoorlie feel like home. Through Evolution’s study assistance program, she’s completing a Certificate IV in Human Resources, supporting her career growth in an environment that values balance and opportunity.

Outside of work, Maddy enjoys an active lifestyle, training at F45 and The Pilates Studio, as well as spending quality time outdoors with her fiancé Connor and their two dogs, Lenny and Lilo. They love visiting local parks, walking at Karlkurla, their neighborhood park at Heffron Circle, and taking the dogs for a swim at Lake Douglas. When it’s time to relax, Maddy and Connor enjoy socialising and often head to local events such as the races, rodeos, picnics, or live music at Centennial Park. They also love a good date night, whether dining out or catching a movie at the local cinema.

Kalgoorlie has given Maddy the opportunity to grow both personally and professionally, while enjoying the lifestyle and community connections that make regional living so rewarding.
