CAPS KURRAWANG is a K-6 School situated in Mt Burges in the Goldfields, a short distance west of Kalgoorlie .

CAPS Kurrawang is seeking a Primary Trained Teacher to teach Year 3 and Year 4 commencing as soon as possible. .

VISION and MISSION

VISION: To be a lighthouse in Christian education, growing and adapting to meet the needs of Aboriginal (First Nations) students.

MISSION: To provide a Christ-centred education, that nurtures students spiritually, educationally, and socially, in an inclusive learning environment that embraces the richness of the Aboriginal (First Nations) heritage. To discover and develop God-given talents, grounded in biblical truths, equipping students with life skills, preparing them to be leaders in their communities and to make a positive difference in the world.

Christian Aboriginal Parent-directed Schools (CAPS) were established by Christian Aboriginal parents to give their children the best possible start in life.   • Passion for teaching: A genuine desire to inspire and motivate aboriginal students who may be struggling to engage.

  • Strong communication skills: Ability to build rapport with students and families, especially student have travelled extensively to attend.

  • Creativity and innovation: Openness to new ideas and approaches to learning. To not only help students develop their literacy and numeracy standards reinforced through engaging and meaningful projects

  • Flexibility and adaptability: Willingness to work in a dynamic and evolving environment.

  • Essential experience or qualifications:

    • Registration with TRBWA

    • Current Working rights in Australia

    • Committed to the Christian Mission and Vision of CAPS

    • The position requires you to be committed to the Christian Vision and Mission of CAPS by modelling Christian behaviour, practices and beliefs.

    • Willingness to obtain WWCC and National police clearance.
