We are seeking a caring and reliable Aboriginal Community Care Worker to join our team on a casual basis. The role provides a safe and supportive environment for people found intoxicated in public, helping them to sober up safely and avoid being taken into police custody.
Key Responsibilities

Support clients in a safe, respectful, and culturally appropriate way

Monitor client wellbeing and safety during their stay

Work as part of a small, supportive team

Maintain basic records and reports

Assist with cleaning and general duties within the facility

Essential Criteria

Aboriginality (Section 50(d) of the Equal Opportunity Act 1984 (WA))

Ability to communicate effectively with Aboriginal people from diverse communities

Understanding of issues affecting Aboriginal people and communities

Ability to work as part of a team and under pressure

Basic computer skills

Commitment to Aboriginal social and emotional wellbeing

Current WA “C” Class driver’s licence (or ability to obtain)

National Police Clearance and Working With Children Check (or ability to obtain)

Willingness to work flexible hours and night shifts
